Easy Houseplants for A Beginner
Start with this small list of easy houseplants for a beginner to get you going on a lifetime of fun with plants.
Sansevieria – Mother in Laws Tongue
This plant will grow pretty much anywhere from low light to bright areas. If you forget to water don’t worry because it doesn’t need a lot of water. Oh yes, it’s great for helping to clean your air.
Philodendron heartleaf
Give this plant space with indirect light and watch it grow! It does like to be consistently watered but will be okay if you forget once in a while. It is a great hanging plant. Try it with a new macramé hanger!
Dracaena
They do best in low to medium light conditions. It also doesn’t require a lot of water. Just water it when the soil starts to feel dry.
Aglaonema
These are the best in almost every light condition except direct sun. It does require a bit more maintenance with watering as it likes to be kept moist, so consistent watering will be important.
Pothos
This one might be the easiest of all! It will grow pretty much everywhere. It’s a quick grower and can tolerate bright to low light. Water when potting soil is dry.
ZZ Plant
This plant has thicker waxy leaves. This will grow in bright indirect light but can tolerate low light. If you forget to water your houseplants, this is the plant for you. Water it once every three to four weeks!
