Black- N-Blue Ball for MDA held on May 7, 2010 was said to be one the best auctions featured throughout Milwaukee and we are proud to have been invloved with the auction. The Muscular Dystrophy Association(MDA) provides "hope for the future" through worldwide research and "help in the present" through comprehensive patient medical and services programs for the adults and children who are affected by one of the 43 different neuromuscular diseases covered by MDA. This years ball was the most successful silent auction in the history of the event ($83,894 was raised), a record number of guests donated to the special Send A Kid To Camp appeal. It was truly an evening of great memories.

Earth Day / Arbor Day are extremely important to Breezy Hill Nursery. We want to share that importance with the community. April 25th Breezy Hill will be donating Arborvitate seedlings at Whitnall Park in honor of Earth Day. It’s imperative for children to understand the importance of trees and nature so we are also donating a ceremonial tree that will be planted at the Boerner Botanical Gardens in Milwaukee. Also that day there will be Earth Day / Arbor Day inspired events that will take place at the Wehr Nature Center and the Boerner Botanical Garden.

SPC Jason M. Schulz was returning from a vehicle recovery mission in November 2007 when the salvage and recovery wrecker he was riding in struck an IED in Mosul, Iraq. The blast ripped through the door on the right side of the truck, hitting the location where SPC Schulz was seated, resulting in the loss of both of his legs. After being airlifted to Germany, SPC Schulz arrived at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas to begin his recovery process. Due to the long waiting list for handicap-accessible housing at Jason’s Military base, he waited nine months for the opportunity to move into a home that met his needs. Homes for our Troops is a program that provides special needs veterans with adapted homes that will accommodate their needs for a successful recovery and stress-free future. Breezy Hill Nursery has answered the call for SPC Schulz and his family. We have provided Homes for our Troops and SPC Schulz with a landscape and irrigation plan that accommodate Jason’s special needs. We also plan on donating a majority of the planting materials and mulch to this project. Thank you SPC Schulz for your service to our country.

Breezy Hill Nursery donates vegetable garden design to Nash School. Breezy Hill believes that education is the key to success. This garden will be an educational garden for young minds to become enriched and grow with environmental knowledge. We will be able to educate students on the natural methods of pest control in a garden and importance of planting different varieties of herbs and vegetables that grow well together. This garden, with a little help from Breezy Hill, will be maintained by the student body and directed by the science teaching staff of Nash School.

St. Alphonsus Church & School gets a prayer garden with help from Breezy Hill Nursery. Breezy Hill donated a landscape design and a variety of plant materials for a prayer garden in New Munster, WI. This prayer garden included natural stone, mortared seatwalls, and sodding. This garden also provided the community of New Munster a place of relaxation and prayer.
